Ayni
AYNI means “today for you, tomorrow for me” in the ancient language of the Incas. This word embodies the concepts of cooperation and reciprocity.
Adriana Cachay and Laerke Skyum, the brand's founders, created it out of their love for high-quality products and nature's finest materials. Ayni works with the Amantani community to preserve their heritage by integrating ancient knitting techniques into their collection. They collaborate with artisans from various regions in Peru and continue to receive training through their collaboration with the Chanel Foundation.
Through Ayni, they seek to set an example for the rest of the fashion and apparel industry by showing how ethics and aesthetics can work together to encourage a more conscious lifestyle and consumption.
“Fashion is about making people look their best,
sustainable fashion is about making people be their best.”
- Ayni
