Description

Handwoven in Ecuador by skilled artisanal weavers, each Yachana Collection queen-sized alpaca throw blanket is a true work of craftsmanship and heritage. Every design begins with alpaca yarn carefully measured and patterned around a traditional spinning wooden frame, ensuring the perfect balance of color for the throw’s distinctive reversible design.

The weaving process requires both precision and strength — the male weavers expertly adjust the loom tension to achieve the ideal weave, while the women artisans finish each piece with a delicate hand-sewn whipstitch edge, adding texture and authenticity to every blanket.

Blending luxuriously soft alpaca fibers with subtle acrylic threads for color and superior softness, these throws are beautifully handmade, very cozy, and versatile — ideal for styling across seasons or adding artisanal warmth to modern interiors. Our Chevron Throw has shades of gray, brown, black, and cream, and is reversible. The other side features a light cream with accents of gray and black.

At Purple Nest Design, we are deeply committed to preserving the weaving arts, helping you to decorate your home with timeless textiles that tell a beautiful story.

Measures 94 x 80 inches. It will fit a full/queen bed or can be used as a throw. It is 70% alpaca and 30% acrylic for color.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Who makes this?
Woven by hand by master weavers in Ecuador, using skills passed down through generations.

Is alpaca itchy?
No. Alpaca has no lanolin and a smoother fiber than wool, so most people who find wool scratchy find alpaca soft.

How is alpaca different from wool or cashmere?
Alpaca is warmer than wool for its weight, yet light and breathable thanks to its hollow fiber, so it works year-round. It is also stronger than cashmere: cashmere is soft but delicate, while alpaca gives you softness that lasts for years with simple care.
