The Corsican leaf lily pad shape heart pendant

This pendant has become our staple piece, drawing its unique charm from my native island, Corsica. The leaf, which I found lying on the ground in Corte, serves as a direct connection to the island's natural beauty. I meticulously preserved its intricate details by adding wax to its back, then carefully crafted a mold to capture every exceptional vein and feature. The jump ring, ingeniously fashioned from the leaf's stem, adds authenticity and a personal touch. Made with recycled silver, this pendant not only symbolizes joy and ethical elegance but also stands as a testament to the captivating allure of Corsica's flora.

Using the ancient technique of lost wax casting allowed the veins and texture of the leaf to be preserved. It is common for the model to dissolve during the process. Fortunately, it did not in this case.  You can see the leaf from which the pendant was molded in a photo.
