Vattea

In 2016, sisters Laura and Ana Maria Maya Silva, utilized their careers in jewelry production and industrial design to create Vattea: a Colombian accessory brand. They were inspired by ancestral cultures and its continued representation through objects and symbols.

 They curate handcrafted works of art with a bronze base armed in 24 carat gold featuring color inspiration from Colombian folklore to capture the warmth and strength of Latin women. Through rigorous research into natural starches, Vattea is able to create hand-woven details with starched threads.

 Vattea’s workforce is a team of several artisans from their community in Medellín where their workshop is. They are proud to provide opportunities to their community including household mothers, those with disabilities, and ex-inmates.
